Payson Temple Celebration

Today was such a special day.  Gavin and Spencer have been practicing for months for the Payson Temple Celebration that was held today -even though they weren't very happy about it.

Well today turned out to be a rainy day. We all packed into the Suburban and headed up to the BYU stadium in the pouring rain...and the closer we got to the stadium...The harder it seemed to rain...we were discouraged..and no I felt so bad that my big boys were at the stadium in the storm.  We waited out the rain in the suburban and I just KNEW it would clear up. Finally at seven, when it was supposed to begin, the clouds lifted. We made our way to the stadium and found our wet seats.  A few minutes later they came over the intercom and announced that the show would indeed go on!! The Youth screamed and cheered..and it took my breath away..and brought tears to my eyes.  They wanted so badly to follow through with what they had put SO much work into.

Next thing you know..here comes President Erying in his little golf cart.  As soon as he got out the Youth went crazy once again for this man of God! How they loved him and he loved them back. Tears again.

The opening song was I Love To See The Temple.  I could hardly sing..I was so proud and full of the spirit.

The youth continued to put on a wonderful program (including Gavin who slipped on the wet grass during his dance - and landed on his face). The spirit was so strong and my testimony grew a lot tonight.

Come to find out Sister Hansen who had put the program together had become really sick today with a brain tumor. ..and it rained just long enough for her to arrive at the program after being at the hospital.
