St. George with the Verwer's

A couple of weeks ago the Verwer's told us that they had heard of a really cool watering hole down in Toquerville and asked if we wanted to go and find it.  We were all over it!!!

We drove down Thursday night and stayed in St. George.  Friday morning we got up early and drove in to Toquerville, parked our trucks and unloaded our bikes/ATV's.  We rode a couple of miles until we came to a waterfall that had cliffs underneath it that you could jump off into a pool waiting for you below, and a ladder to climb back up with.  SO COOL!!!

Spence was the first to jump off the cliffs - followed by the Dad's, Lexi and KJ - Cooper even jumped off.  But, Gavin would NOT jump - I couldn't beleive it - Mr. Adrenaline was scared.

After a few people jumped (inlcuding myself and Kori) Preston asked if he could jump.  We suited him up with his lifejacket and he was a bit nervous.  He scooted close to the edge and told Dave, "Push me Dad, Push Me" - and then he jumped.  On his second jump he belly flopped and was done for the day.

After a few hours, Gavin decided it was okay to jump in - from the other side from where we were jumping - what a funny boy.

We went back to the watering hole Saturday morning, and it was a bit busier so we didn't stay as long.  When we were done we headed over to Grafton, a small ghost town that my ancestors are from.

We found the house that my Great-Great Grandfather John Wood built for his family.

And the schoolhouse we camped by 20 years ago when my family came down for a reuinion.

Preston slept the whole time we were there - he missed it all.

And we found the blackberries that we had picked 20 years ago too - and picked some.

We found my Great-Great Granmother's headstone in the tiny little Grafton Cemetary.
What an amazing place.

While we were in Toquerville, Gavin found a buried safe where we unloaded our bikes/ATV's.  He KNEW that there was a treasure inside so we HAD to bring it home.  I couldn't dash his dreams so I helped him get it onto the trailer and we hauled it home.  Once we got here, he popped it open - only to find it empty.  Oh well, it kept us curious all weekend - so it was worth it.
