I've been wanting to take the boys to the Beehive House for some time now and was telling Jenny that I wanted to, and then go find some of the pioneers in the Salt Lake Cemetary - and she wanted to go to!!! So today we stole Dave from work and we headed to Salt Lake.
The Beehive house was AWESOME!! Just like I remembered it from my childhood.
I've always loved the little window at the top of the stairs. Brigham Young's children would watch all of the visitors arriving through the window and I've always imagined myself being one of the little kids there - how neat would it be to see all of those important people dressed up in all of their fancies.
When we were done with the Beehive house - and our $1 parking toll had run out - we went and found the Salt Lake Cemetary. We had so much fun looking for all of the old pioneer headstones - we found a lot of really cool ones. Our favorite, or mine anyways, was Porter Rockwell's.
The sprinkers were on at the cemetary, which was good and bad -We had to keep dodging them, but they kept us nice and cool at the same time.
Lucky for us, Jenny is a photographer so we got LOTS of pictures of our little guant - but only ONE of Ninny - silly Ninny.
I'm pretty sure this is one of ancestors.
After the cemetary, we went and had a picnic lunch at Liberty Park and then headed to Salt Lake Seven Peaks, since our passes work there too.
For Dinner, we had been invited to Rob and Kristie's in Lehi, so we stopped there for some good grub and fireworks and then came home.
What a grooy day.
