Today we started our much awaited trip to Oregon.
We started in Payson where the boys had signed up for a 1mile run/walk. We got there a little late and it had already started, so I told the boys to just merge in with the group coming up the road. We did so, and found that it ended one block away - oops. Oh well, we still got our medals and certificates for finishing anyway.
On the way to the car I saw a friend and we talked about what to see in Oregon. After a few minutes I started heading to the car when I saw Dave and he asked me where Preston was - I thought he had him. So I went BACK to the park and found Preston with a nice lady trying to find us - got a pretty good scowl from the lady I might add. Lol. Not a good way to start a vacation - prayed that I would be aware of my kids from then on out.
We met up with the Nephi Deschamps and headed on our way. We got up to Ogden and Dave realized we were going to pass right by the Hill Air Force Museum so we decided to stop and take a look since we had plenty of time to get to Twin Falls tonight.
The kids (and Dave) LOVED looking at all the planes, and were even more excited when we found out that they were making rockets to launch.
Once we were done making our rockets, we went outside and launched them with a contraption made of sprinkler parts and PVC pipe (I'm sure we'll be seeing one of those around our house in the near future). Everyone got to launch their own rockets - except me and I think Lori, I gave mine to a little boy who had not been with our group when we made them, and when he launched mine, it went the highest!!
Can you see Dave's rocket?
After we all launched our rockets, we went inside and played in their Kid's Room. It was packed with fun things to try on, play with and fly.
I'm so glad Dave thought of going to the Museum - it was awesome.
Our next stop was Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho. We hadn't been here on our last trip to Oregon - the other Deschamps' had told us about it and we wanted to see it this time. And I'm so glad we did - it was absolutely gorgeous!!
After the Falls, we went into Twin Falls. I had printed a gift certificate on the internet for a place and once we got there, we saw it was a full blown BAR. We ate there anyways - got a few funny looks when we tromped in with eight kids, but the food was good and I had a gift certificate gosh darn it!!
