Fourth of July in Ephriam Canyon

This weekend we had a change of plans. We were going to go down to Yankee Meadows again with my Aunt and her family, but Friday morning we got a call from my Brother Aaron saying my Aunt wasn't able to find a place to camp this year that they had stayed in a Hotel the night before. So we decided instead of going down and not knowing where we were going to camp we would go up Ephriam Canyon with the Nelson's who had invited us to go with them as well.
Ephriam Canyon is SO very gorgeous!! It connects with Manti and Mayfield Canyons along the Skyline Drive so there was plenty of places to ride and explore.
We went on a couple of family rides with the Nelsons and Doziers - it was so nice to be all together as a family and riding together. Eric convinced Gavin to ride one of his girls bikes on the rides - he does not like the unknown and usually won't ride his own bike when we go off on rides - it totally bousted his confidence and he did so well - I didn't get any pictures though - sorry Gav. None of the boys seemed to care that we were on the bikes for hours at a time - Preston slept a few times on the wheeler, which brought a whole new dimension of riding for me, one - handed.
We got up Sunday morning and Dave checked the weather - we couldn't believe we had cell and internet service at 10,000 feet - and saw that it was going rain in the valley. I told him if they were getting rain in the valley that meant snow for us, so we started packing up. Just as we were heading out the first snow flakes started falling - SNOW, on the 4th of July??!?!? It was pretty amazing actually - we got to watch the clouds roll right into us and start dumping the cold white stuff as we headed home.
What a great weekend!!
