Do you remember the tadpoles we caught on our Memorial Day camping trip??
Well, now they are frogs!!
When we got home from camping we knew we had four in one cup but Gavin's cup was all muddy and so we didn't know how many he had caught - well, we dumped them out and he had about 26 - so we had around 30 tadpoles all together.
We fed them gold fish food until they developed their arms (which by the way, grow inside them and when they are fully formed, they pop out - elbow first) and then they don't eat anything until the metamorphosis is complete. Once they have completed the cycle we have been releasing them, a few at a time, just up the hill from us, where there is a little spring.
We have all had so much fun watching these guys transform - even Dave and I have been caught staring at them for long periods of time.

That is crazy. I have enjoyed learning about them too - even if I haven't seen them day by day. I am glad you brought them home. Fun experience and your kids won't forget either.
That is so cool. How many kids get to see that?! I'm glad all you guys got to come to Kaylie's party, thank you. That was fun.
That is so cool! I was fascinated by tadpoles when I was younger. We used to cart gallons of them up from the pond and watch them hatch, then take them back to the pond once they started getting bigger. Next year we'll have to go up and catch some too. The kids would love it. When was it that you found them? Thanks for inviting us tonight. Did you end up going? I would have liked to go, but we have no one to borrow a four wheeler from. Maybe I can finally convince Rusty to get one. :)
oooo...I'm surprised this doesn't gross you out if loose teeth does. ;) I'm kind of glad I just have girls...I don't think I could handle the weird bugs. :) I can't believe how big the boys are getting!
feels like i don't check your blog for a few days, but before you know it, i've missed a bunch of stuff! i Love the "contraption" ride they've got going, and it sounds like the frogs are a hit! you guys do the coolest stuff!
that is so cool! What do you feed them?
Goldfish food Kendra...:D Where did you catch these cool little buggers, I want some!
I wish there were some place around here to catch tadpoles,Bryce had a friend that had found some somewhere and he was fascinated with watching them grow.
I loved when it rained in the summer in Florida because all these tiny frogs would be hopping around everywhere
